An easy and free one is Microsoft Photo Story. It's a free download to a windows machine and is really friendly. Our 5th graders even created a slide show with very little assistance this year....View Thread
Slideshows - End of the Year
Not only are slideshows are fun to create, but parents and students love them. They can be made for class parties, of field trips, and for end of the year ceremonies.
I've been using slide.com to make my slideshows. You do have to register, but it's free! I found it very userfriendly. All you have to do is upload your pictures and pick from a variety of special effects. Once I'm finished with my show, I put it on my webpage.View Thread
I use Windows Movie Maker. I like the way it is easy to make changes, move slides, add words, etc.View Thread
Some songs I've used are:
"Do I Make You Proud" - Taylor Hicks
"My Wish" - Rascal Flatts
"No Day But Today" -Rent
"For Good" - Wicked (I used a music editor to cut out the beginning talking part)
"Thank God For Kids" - The Oak Ridge Boys
My Wish - Rascal Flatts
We're Going to be Friends - Jack Johnson
Upside Down - Jack Johnson
Forever Young - Rod Stewart
I Hope you Dance - Lee Ann Womack
for the first time in years, i already know what music i'm using, what our theme song is, what our theme and decorations are for our sixth grade promotion ceremony--i'm usually down to the wire, and have, in the past, used "older" songs--ugh!
Our theme this year is: Change the World, Together
all our songs have to do with being a positive force and standing together. i just copied most of my idea list--the starred ones are the ones i'm definitely using---still deciding on the rest--our slideshow is about 23 minutes long
waiting on the world to change—john meyer 3:21
jack Johnson—you and I are gonna be friends (curious george soundtrack)
***Keep Holding On Avril Lavigne from Eragon soundtrack 3:59
***Shine on –Jet 4:42
“hang on” smash mouth 2:53
****brandi carlile—the story 3:58
***five for fighting “world” 3:52
***meet the Robinsons all-american rejects “the future has arrived” 3:05 the only problem with this one is that itunes does not carry the single--only the whole crummy album "VoldeMart" (stealing from someone here at PT) carries the single, but i recall last year, those songs didn't convert correctly to my program.....
You Raise Me Up by Josh Groban or You Lift Me Up by Rachael Lampa or even Forever Young by Rod Stewart!View Thread
I use "i hope you had the time of your life" by green day at the end of my slide show. hope that helps.View Thread
I use windows movie maker. It was "free" and SUPER easy.
Anyway, I was going to say 'My Wish' too, I used it for my cousin's daughters and she loved it.
I also have a song...I believe it's from the Princess Diaries soundtrack called, "What Makes You Different (Makes You Beautiful)".
When I do my movies, I try to put a bunch of different songs in that either reflect what is going on in the movie or the kids. I just made one for my cousin's middle daughter that is a hoot.
I did the same thing for my second graders.
Here are the songs I used:
High School Musical; We're all in the together
Cars, Rascal Flatts; Life is a Highway
Meet the Robinsons; We're the kids of the future
Toy Story; You've got a friend in me
Rascal Flatts: My Wish
The kids loved it because they were able to sing with all of them and I made some parents cry with the last song. :)
Forever Young - Rod Stewart
These Are the Days - 10,000 Maniacs
You'll Be in MY Heart - Phil Collins (on the Tarzan Soundtrack)
Best Years of Our Lives - Baha Men (on the Shrek Soundtrack)
End of the Road-Boyz II Men
I Will Remember You- Sarah McLachlan
Move Along- All-American Rejects
