After 20+ years in 4th grade, I will be a 5th grade teacher next year. I will be teaching SS. In my state, exploration and colonization were moved to 4th grade 2 years ago. I loved teaching that period in history. Next year, I will have 1800-2000. Our standards specifically mention: westward expansion, Civil War, WWI, WWII, and the Cold War. Do any of you have these standards as well? Do you have any websites you could recommend for these topics? Project ideas?
