Acronym Needed for Home Reading Program

Looking for an acronym for our home reading program. Second
grade uses OTTER (Our Time To Enjoy Reading), third uses
BEARS (Being Excited About Reading Stories), and fifth
grade uses the traditional DEAR (Drop Everything And Read).
Looking for a creative acronym for 4th grade to use. Any
ideas (besides SSR)?

not much help here

I don't know of any, but I sat here and tried to think. I like the word "GROW", but couldn't come up with anything very good.

GROW - go read other's writing

-go read or write

-go read obscure writing (hehe)...I couldn't think of another adjective that starts with an O.

one we used

Families Are Reading Together......FART! just kidding! we wrote a grant several years ago (which, if you haven't done is a boring and tedious process--so we decided to have a little fun with our staff...) we decided to tease them about the program when we presented it and pretended that was the name.....it was very QUIET...until they got that we were kidding. i honestly don't remember the name we DID give it!

We use SURF (silent uninterrupted reading fun), kind of boring next to FART, that's a great one!:) :)

I use WEB---Wonderfully Entertaining Books

I have a Bulletin board with a giant Spider web with all sorts of book titles kids have read.

Ooh! I love the WEB one. That could be fun next year. :)

I'm boring and just call it AR (Accelerated Reader) time.

I use DEAR, but my husband uses BARF = Be A Reading Freak. The kids in his class enjoy saying, "It's BARF time"!

Reading Acronym

At Fogarty Elementary in Guthrie, OK they have Who RAH! or Who Reads At Home. I thought it was pretty good.

I like some of these ideas. My name for it is pretty unoriginal -- we just refer to it as I. Reading (an abbreviation for Independent Reading).
