Adoption news

Just wanted to share some good news with the world. After 2-3 years of struggling with infertility, my husband and I began the adoption process 2 months ago. We're adopting internationally, from Korea. We had our first meeting today with our caseworker, who told us we would probably have our baby some time in 2006. And we found out that we will definitely be having a boy. We' ve already decided on the name Christopher. We're so excited!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Congratulations

What great news!!! I have 3 kids with my first husband, but my second husband and I were not able to have children. It was heartbreaking. We considered adoption for awhile, but just couldn't figure out how to finance it, and he told me he was actually afraid to really get serious about it because he just couldn't take the continued disappointment if it didn't work out. One of my son's best friends was adopted from India. I remember when her parents first adopted her. Now she is a beautiful young lady (senior!!) with parents who absolutely adore her, and I can't help but think sometimes what her life might have been like if she had not been fortunate enough to be adopted. Best wishes to you and your new family :)

Congrats

I feel your excitement. My husband and I fought infertility for 8 years and decided to adopt through the state. We found a 14 year old boy at an adoption fair in Tulsa in August. We clicked from the first moment we spoke to each other. He does have special needs and that is OK with us, since I teach Special Education and heavily involved in Special Olympics. We are waiting to hear back from our caseworker regarding him. I thought I would hear from her today but did not. I am so glad I dont have to wait until next year, I would be a nutcase. I hope time goes by fast for you so you can get your boy and bring him home. Good Luck to you and your soon to be family.

Congratulations

We adopted our children, one international at the age of 6, one from US at 10 days old. They have been the biggest blessings in my life! After years of infertility it is wonderful to finally hold a little one in your arms.
