Airborne

Okay, so perhaps I was a sucker! Anybody else bought and tried "Airborne" developed by a teacher and guaranteed to help ward off more germs, infections, and colds from classrooms?

I was on in about 2 weeks and developed swollen glands, etc. that required antibiotic.

Anybody else try this?

Not yet

I haven't tried it yet, but my mother-in-law has bought some for me. It will be interesting to see what others say, so I think I will wait. I hope you feel better soon!

got it for Christmas

I actually got some in my stocking for Christmas LAST year and take one for a day or two when I feel something trying to take hold. Each time I took it before I really had any symptoms I was able to avoid getting sick. I do use hand sanitizer at school and wash my hands A LOT so I'm sure that helps more than anything, but otherwise I had success with Airborne.

I've tried it and am not too sure if it truly works. I think Echineacea (sp?) works VERY well. I take three a day whenever I feel something coming on or when I have been around a sick person.:p

i take it

I've taken it for about 5-6 months, including during my student teaching time. I've had good success with it and haven't been sick. EXCEPT...during Christmas break I stopped taking it and just before starting my new job in 5th grade (after break) I got very sick...sinus infection, etc. I'm now back on it daily. My husband, who is on airplanes a lot, also takes it daily. In fact, he gets free samples of Airborne (wrapped individually) at the American Airlines Advantage Club in major airports!

I tried it

It seemed to work, but it upset my tummy so I stopped taking it.

Petunia

I have taken one tablet twice this year when a student coughed directly into my face and other time when my husband got sick. I didn't get sick either time. Always before I would have gotten SICK. It worked for me. My stomach would never let me take it everyday.

Hi,

I wash my hands a LOT, and take Airborne. This time, I don't know what happened - in spite of everything, I got some kind of bug that lasted exactly a week. The middle couple of days were pretty miserable. However, I hadn't been taking the Airborne reliably when I got it. I have found that regular use of Airborne has really cut down on colds for me. I don't mind the taste of the orange and dislike the lemon, but it seems like some people have the exact opposite response. it doens't bother my stomach at all.

I give Airborne a hardy 2 thumbs up.

Health Food Store

I take Nutri-Biotic with immune plus from the health food store. Take 3 a day as soon as you feel something coming on. It seems to kick it, and doesn't upset your tummy. Its derivitive is grapefruit seed extract.

I was going to try it, but I couldn't swallow the stuff. Yuck!!! It made me gag, so I didn't try anymore.

I've got a cold right now, and my DH started taking it yesterday. He thought it was nasty, too, but he did take it.

what's in it?

I have never seen airborne here(Canada). What is the active ingredient(s)?
I take Cold F/X which is a derivative of ginseng. I think it works great most of the time as a preventative for the flu and colds. It also works well as an immune stimulant if you already have a virus, and want to get rid of it more quickly.

I took this for the first time about three weeks ago. My daughter and sister-in-law had both used it before and recommended it very highly to me. The trick, apparently, is to take it at the very first sign of a cold coming on to prevent it from taking hold. That first time, I was already into a cold for about a day and a half and, while it didn't stop the symptoms, it definitely lessened them and the cold itself was only for a couple of more days. Last week, I started to feel another cold beginning so I took a couple of doses three hours apart. Even though I went to bed that night with a very congested head and sneezing to beat the band, when I woke up the next morning, my head was completely clear and the cold never did develop. I have taken Cold-eze (echinecea and zinc) in the past and thought those worked fairly well, but my recent experience with Airborne has made me a believer. That's going to be my first response from now on. It did upset my stomach a little bit after three doses, but it was worth not having to deal with the nuisance of being a sneezing, coughing fool.
