I was disappointed to see Bucky go! I would have much rather see Ace go, but that will happen soon I'm sure. I also thought Kelli was really good. I wasn't so sure how she was going to do just knowing that she had to sing a Queen song, but when I heard which song she chose I was really scared for her!! However, she pulled it off and did great!

Am I the only one that thinks Kelly is just over-estimated? Sometimes I feel like I'm watching "Kelly Idol". Like Tuesday night, when they were showing the contestants meeting Queen, she was in every shot! I know she's cute, but come on! And I think she plays dumb a lot, which is annoying. When Simon said "On paper, this should have been a disaster" She goes "On paper? Huh? I can't understand what he says b/c of his accent!" Ugh. I think the talent she has is overshadowed by her ditzy image.

Do you think that Kelli is putting on an act? That has occurred to me. She probably said something once that gave the producers an idea, and now they want to encourage it to add more "flavor" to the show. I can't imagine that anybody is THAT ditzy!!! I also think her accent is way overplayed, also. I know that some of the country folk in our state talk a little bit like her, but come on...she pours it on rea--llly thick!

I heard that Kellie WASN'T pretending...she REALLY IS like that. However...I seem to think like Carolyn on this one. I think it's a ratings ploy. I'd hate to think one person really could be that dumb, and yet so pretty.
IMHO, I was hoping Ace would get the boot last night. He seems very conceited. When they asked some of them what they missed, he sounded as though he was simply copying other people's answers, to try to get the audience to "ooooh, and ahhh" over him, like they did when a few others spoke.
I did not think he was exciting at all on Tuesday. He sounded like he was singing at an old folks home, and they probably would've been asleep, through his song.
I did like Taylor's song choice, and I even liked Kellie's performance,(especially the lighting), and my husband LOVED Bucky's performance. I thought Elliott was very good as well.
I am very happy Elliott didn't get the boot. I heard that he wears an insulin pump, (he has diabetes, was diagnosed at 17..they said that last night, when his mom was speaking), and of course he has hearing loss in one ear, of close to 90%? That is amazing that he is always right on with his pitch, and does such a great job. I hope he will go far in this competition.
Now Rod Stewart week this coming week. AND...I heard on the radio this morning, that they will be singing his new songs, from his collection that's out, not his older stuff.

the producer's manipulations
Do all of you think that maybe the producers are manipulating "the vote?" My husband keeps saying that they purposely eliminate a boy, then a girl, then a boy, then a girl, and so on. Is it mere coincidence that the gender alternates each week for the person "who goes home?" Or are the eliminations manipulated? It sure seems to be that way. If this is true, then it's time to eliminate a girl next week. Hmmm. Wonder who it will be?

I think they do sway the vote, by the way the portray each contestant, and even how often they show them (see my Kelly comment above, way too much airtime!). Plus, I think the judges' comments sway people, too. I've said from the beginning, during the audtions, that Kelly and Daughtry are going to be in the finals, b/c of the air time they got then, and b/c Simon really liked them both.

and normally pessimistic me is sitting here believing that kelli is not acting and there are no machinations about who goes home--America votes (can't you believe their weekly pleas when everyone whines? ha ha).
i think simon likes chris and kelli because they are the best....
(although my vote is with tayler!)
it is officially baseball season, and my husband had better figure out how to work that freakin' VCR or we will never see AI again! sigh... we missed last night due to practice and i had to get an update on who left from this board...and now i find out they are doing our old pal rod? my husband just started searching for a videotape! a little incentive ...
