How about Reading/Writing Connections in the K-2 Classroom by Leah Mermelstein? It's about Reader's and Writer's Workshop and using them side by side in the k-2 classroom. It is a great read and really is helping me to plan for both workshops at the same time.

this book sounds interesting

I have never heard of this book, but I just looked it up on Amazon, and it really looks good.
What is the format of the book? Is it a theory book or does it give examples/idea etc...?
I think I may have to order this one!
Thanks for the reccomendation.

Tigger!!!

You found me on another site..hahaha! I LOVE this book. It has everything...examples and theory. The author is such an expert at RW and WW and this book helps you to combine them so that you are not having to come up with different objectives/minilessons for each workshop. So, for example, if you are discussing ways to not interrupt during a RW conference, then you would show how to do that during WW. She gives a lot of ideas and there is background theory there too! It is definitely worth the $$. How are you doing in your workshops? I saw your posts on t.net and feel badly that we don't have the support that we did in the beginning on both sites. Were you also looking for the books for WW and had the post on the writersworkshop forum? I have them today, I'll post later. Hope everything is going well!
