I recently started a new class blog. Our old one was in tumblr and I found that it didn't have all the functions that I wanted so we changed to blogger. We added a clustr map today and I would love for the kids to see that people all over the world are viewing the blog (we are from New Zealand) so if you have a few minutes spare can you please have a quick look. with Blogger. I had one and if you click on the link NEXT BLOG it goes to a random blog and sometimes to a porn site!

Yeah, and the other thing is that you may get some nut posting comments to their blogs. If your district has websites, you'd be better off doing it that way.

I have tried the next blog and any inappropriate ones are blocked through our school server. I have set it up so that any comments come via me before going online so that should stop anything inappropriate too. Thanks your advice though.

don't forget

if the kids access from home they won't have the same blocking from the district. I have mine on the school site and I use iweb to do it. It's a great idea, just so scary these days.

They don't have the password to access it. It is saved onto our classroom computers. Hopefully I have it all covered.

I just worry because I had a parent "Find" that view next blog thing and saw the porn. I was MORTIFIED! She wasn't mad, but wanted me to be aware. So needless to say I'm even more paranoid now

why not use classroom blogmeister???

I use classroom blogmeister with first graders and I absolutely love it!

I can post all my digital pix and the kids each get their own blog. ALL BLOGS and COMMENTS are emailed to me for review before they appear on the blog. I LOVE THAT FEATURE! It is SOOOO set up for teachers and classrooms!
