Hi, I love these boards. I teach computer class to k5-6th grade 1/2 hour a week and would like any ideas on computer curriculum for k5-3rd grade. Any ideas would be appreciated. We have done the alphabet book. Drawing themselves....We have office and kid pix. I don't find a problem with the older kids the younger ones are the problem. Everything is either to old or to young.

For that age I like teaching Karel the Robot and/or Terrapin Logo. It's basic programming. Easy enough for that age level, but not babyish at all. Lego robotics is another option.

Would these be programs? If so, where would I find them? We don't have a lot to spend as we are a small Christian School.

Internet access

Do the students have internet access when they come to your class? If they do try www.starfall.com This is what I use with half the class while the rest work on a journal in the library. We have an open concept computer lab/library. We take 3 baskets of tools with us. Half of the class goes on the computers with headphones to hear the sound and the rest sit at tables to do their journals. The following week we switch. If you miss computers on your week then you miss it. :(

Also SuccessMaker is a program that your school could buy but I believe that it is expensive. I have seen it used in several schools and it seems to be liked by the children.
