cps
our school owns a couple systems and i've used it 2 or 3 times.....it's so much work to create a test....that i just haven't done it this year. (and the system isn't appropriate for every skill).
the first time i had my students try it out (to get comfortable with it before they took a "real" test with it), i gave them a phony test over the school rules that i had some copy of:
1. During a fire drill, you should...
a. run screaming down the hall, "Fire, fire!"
b. crawl out to the fence on your bellies.
c. keep working at your desks.
d. walk quickly and silently out to the fence.
they had fun with it.
my main problem with using the CPS is that a kid could accidentally press the wrong answer, but have the right answer marked on paper. so whenever i've used it, (supposed to be a grading time-saver, ha!) i always end up looking over their papers anyway. (once caught an error where a kid had missed half the problems because she got off on one and all the rest were wrong (but were right on the paper.)
i'd like to get to the point where i use our CPS more, but right now, i spend too much time on other things, can't invest any more time. (and i've forgotten how to set the whole thing up, so would have to relearn--argh!)
