Good morning! I am an elementary music teacher and I chose to do a health theme this year for our spring program. The songs are really fun and adorable but I'm kinda stressed because I don't know what to use for decorations. The program is next week and I still don't know how to decorate. Make a food pyramid? Does anyone have any bright ideas that won't take a week to make? I wish I wasn't a procrastinator. Have a beautiful day!

Thanks!

What about large fruits and vegatbles with smiling faces? Here, where I live there is a party supply store that sells fruit shaped balloons.

Could you purchase premade bulletin board pictures of children being healthy? Ex- running, playing, skating...

Or how about asking classrooms of kids create a large poster (mural) that shows a healthy activity? They could design it and color it as a team project. Make them nice and big and you will have a room full of great decorations made by the kids!

Good luck!

I agree, ask the children to create colorful murals. They could make the food pyramid or many using each part of the pyramid. How about asking the students to draw their favorite healthy food and draw their face at the top of it? Good luck! Let me know how you do.

Miss Wilson, instead of shopping or spending time coloring instead of practicing for the program, I'd first check with the K to 3 teachers in your building. We all have lots of that stuff, and the more its displayed the better. I'd bet there would be lots to borrow, for the day of the spring program, instead of buying stuff you might not use again. If you do buy some neat fruit/veggie shaped balloons or placemats or whatever, you could give them to the teachers who lent you displays, as a thankyou, after the program.
