Does anyone have information on the district they are subbing for helping with the cost of classes attended by their subs? I'm working on my 150 clock hours and need to start taking more classes. $$$ They are getting spendy!!!

I'm not "eligible"

I asked if I could participate in the professional development classes offered to full-time teachers by the district. I even offered to pay for them myself. I'm not allowed to take the classes even if I pay for them myself.

I have to find my own classes to take. I've found the classes at the PBS Teachline to be the most economic and they're online, which fits my schedule.

Good luck!

hummm......

I have not even asked if I'm allowed to take them. Better get to it! Do you get clock hours/credits for those classes that you take online????

hello,

Of the five districts I sub in, four do not allow you to take part in staff development. The fifth allows subs to take certain classes (the ones with low enrollment).

Thanks

I take the courses and get graduate credit which is what I need in my state to renew my temporary license (can't get the permanent one until I have my own room). It costs a little more for graduate credit, but its still less expensive to going to the local college for a weekend workshop for credit.
