I know that this was posted not too long ago, but I'm trying to get a better handle on how many multiplication problems my children should be able to answer in a minute or two? If you have district guidelines on this, can you please let me know what is required in your district? This would be very helpful and appreciated. Thanks!

My school uses the Otter Creek program. It is terrific because the goals are set for each student based on the current level and the speed at which they write.

X Facts

In my class/school, we have 40 X problems on a sheet and the children are expected to do these in 2 minutes...which is much like the time allowed by lis3569. (Pretty smart of me to figure that one out, huh?) :-)

time tests

100 problems in 5 minutes - multiplication
11 problems in 30 seconds for facts of a specfic factor

They are expected to have mastery at the end of the 4th quarter. Reality is maybe 50% have total mastery.
