Gifted and Talented Student (Art)

I have a kindergartner who is 5. She demonstrates unusual abilities in art. If the art teacher says the medium for the day will be markers, she doesn't want to use them and wants to use crayons instead for ex.

What do you do in this event?

Also, what types of activities would you do differently in the classroom?

I would say she could use the crayons after she showed me should could use the markers correctly to complete assignment.
