Good songs for Morning meeting?

Senior Member
I will be teaching a 1/2 multiage class ( 6-8 year olds) this year with most of my kids being 8 or almost 8 when school starts. I would like some songs to sing for MM that they would not consider too babyish. Any ideas? ;) <!--sing-->

Red Grammer

has wonderful CDs. I know he has a web site and you can see song titles and hear bits of his songs. One of my favorites is: "I feel wonderful, when somebody says that to me, I feel wonderfu,l as wonderful can be. It makes me wanna say, the same thing to somebody new, and by the way I've been meaning to say, I think you're wonderful too!"

Music for MM

Here are some of the songs I've used in my Morning Meetings. I used some when I taught third grade and added many more when I moved to first. I got them all from iTunes. Hope you find something you can use! :)

You've Got a Friend in Me (Randy Newman)
Oh What a Beautiful Morning (Joanie Bartels)
Thank You For Being a Friend (Andrew Gold)
We Are Family (Sister Sledge)
I Think You're Wonderful (Red Grammer)
Here Comes the Sun (Bingo Kids)
Put a Little Love in Your Heart (Hit Crew)
Don't Worry, Be Happy (Bobby McFerrin)
Zip a Dee Doo Dah (Aly and AJ)
High Hopes (Gary Powell)
It's a Sunshine Day (Brady Bunch)
Come On Get Happy (Partridge Family)
Great for end of year~
Are You Ready for the Summer?
Linger (both by Lisa Loeb)

I could go on and on.... :)
