Havanese

I wanted to post about this wonderful dog we got over the summer. She's a Havanese, which I had never even HEARD of until I posted on this site about which breed everyone liked. After taking several pet quizzes to see what best "suited" our family, the Havanese kept coming up. We're SO happy with our dog!!! She's adorable, loving, SPOILED, and the kids adore her. My son calls her the "perfect dog". Does anyone else own a Havanese? Anyway, I'm posting to say thanks to everyone that gave their opinion on dog breeds, and for introducing us to this wonderful breed!

I don't remember the exact sites I went to - I just did an online search for "pet quizzes" and tried several of them. They're fun to do and only take a few minutes. Then they show you what pet (or dog breed in particular) is best suited for you. Not that we have anything against mixed breeds, but with 3 children to consider and a hubby with allergies, we had to get a little picky. Plus I learned lots about different breeds! Which ones are prone to barking, snapping, needs brushing, room to run, etc... Very interesting!

i did what you did and went on the internet and found my top pet which was a goldendoodle---a cross between a golden retriever and standard poodle. So I looked up the breeders to see--just curious at the time. And there was a breeder who had them at a 30 minute drive where I was spending my thanksgiving--and I told my great uncle who happened to know the breeders by some way (small town) and so two carfolds of family descended on their dog farm just to look and...well...how could you not buy this beautiful puppy...so now I'm a proud owner of a male goldendoodle, so young that I have to wait two weeks to get my baby, but thank you in a weird technology sort of way. I mean, if I never asked you how you did this compatibility test and if you never answered and if the breeders weren't somehow connected to my family--I tell you what--It's a small world, but thank you, I have a beautiful puppy that I would never have thought about. Isn't it funny how life works!!! What if you never posted? And what if you never answered? Thank you....and I hope you are enjoying your puppy. How could you know that your havanese would lead to a complete stranger getting another little angel? Thank you, I love my little pup!

I'm so excited to hear about your new puppy!!!!! I had no idea it would have the domino effect like that - and what a neat one it is! That's how it happened with the original post I had - asking about different breeds of dogs a long time ago (a year ago maybe?) and someone mentioned the Havanese and I took the pet quizzes. Definitely funny how everything happens. Mine actually isn't a puppy - she just turned 5 in November. I didn't want a puppy myself - I didn't want to go through the whole training process, and I knew she'd be cheaper if she was getting "retired" from breeding. I do love puppies, though, just knew I didn't have time to go through all that. Anyway............. enjoy your little Goldendoodle!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
