Ileap Test

Hi

Are there any teachers on this board that will be giving the ILEAP TEST this year? If so, what are you dong to prepare your students for this test? My students will be taking the ILEAP TEST in March. Are there any sites on the internet that has practice sheets that I can print in order to prepare my students for this test? Your help will be greatly appreciated. Happy New Year to everyone.

My students will be taking the ILEAP in March as well. I assume that you are teaching in Louisiana and using the Comprehensive Curriculum.? We are, but have strayed away from it because we did not feel it was preparing our students for the upcoming test. With our Math series (Harcourt) our school purchased the ILEAP practice booklets to help us with preparing our students. We are beginning to use those this week.

We sat down this past week and mapped out skills on our calendar to cover in the next 10 weeks. It will be tight, but I think we will make it. There are a few things that we wish we would not have wasted our time on in the beginning, such as the first math unit in the comp. curriculum. Third graders are not developmentally ready for probability entering 3rd grade, so we feel like we are playing catch up.

We changed the format of our spelling tests to multiple choice, and have been working strongly on finding mistakes in sentences and reading comprehension.

As far as Social Living and Science, we aren't sure what to expect and cannot find any resources to teach the Social Living part. All of the websites that are listed in the curriculum are "not found." It has been very frustrating. I hope that your experience has been different.

I'm sorry for the short notice, but there are some sites which contain practice. Sadly, most of these sites are targeted toward LEAP only. You can visit www.louisianaschools.net site. Under the testing tab there are sample test questions. You can also have your students take the PASS tests online (the same web site). I feel for you that are dealing with the comprehensive problems. I have been struggling with the same problems.
