I'm SO excited! I am teaching "my" subject!

I am a new sub this fall. Enjoying it 90% of the time, oddly enough!

The other day I did some research on "who teaches what" in my district and sent some emails to certain teachers.

I am delighted to report that I will be teaching Environmental Science at the high school on Friday! That was my college major and I went on to work for the Sierra Club for 15 years until funding for my program finally ran out in 2003.

I know it's silly, but it's just so much FUN for me to look forward to teaching what I know best!!!

Tomorrow, alas, I teach Spanish! Barbaro!
(Poor students.)

Enthusiasm

It's great to see the enthusiasm you are bringing to subbing! Your positive attitude in a big part of the success you are feeling. It is NOT silly to be excited. I hope your Environmental Science day will be great!

love the job

I have been subbing part-time for 6 or 7 years and I love it. I have only had a handful of bad experiences. I look forward to every workday being different, I enjoy the students, I think it is a great job! Glad to see others who get as excited as I do!
