Interactive Science Bulletin Board

Hello. My name is Heather and I am an Elementary Education student in Arizona. For a class I need an interactive science-themed bulletin board. The only rule is that it can't be a purchused package. I really want to blow my professor away. Any ideas?

Some possibilities

  1. put some samples of materials on the board. hook up a battery and lightbulb circuit with two loose ends. touch the loose ends to the materials to determine if they will conduct electricity.
  2. put some mineral samples on the board. hang a streak plate at the side with a piece of string. students can rub the streak plate on the mineral samples to see the streak.
  3. Moh's hardness scale. put samples of rocks and minerals on the board and hang a set of hardness testing materials around.
  4. use wire to connect tacks on one side of the board with tacks on the other side of the board. cover the wires with paper. put questions on one side and answers on the other side so that touching a question tack and the right answer tack with the loose ends of a lightbulb circuit makes the light come on.
Good luck.
