I am using this for the first time so I hope this gets to you. Interactive writing is a very useful strategy. Using little wipe boards to engage the other students is useful if your students are not easily engaged. The process of writing just comes to life when they see their ideas on chart in kids writing. I hope you give it a try. I have used it with 1st, 2nd, 3rd , and 4th graders. They all loved it!
