If they want more subs

then they should pay more than $57. that is insulting. I wouldn't get up for $57.

re: pay

I agree, we get $105 in nor. cal. I probably would sub for $75 /day but no less. Thank goodness, we get what we do here.

Hello,

One district where I used to sub pays their subs $75.00 for a 7.5 hour day ($10.00/hour). However the bus drivers are paid $44.00 for four hours (that's either a morning or afternoon "run") if they do both runs it's $88.00 for eight hours work ($11.00/hour).

Now you know why I no longer sub in that district - bus drivers are worth more than substitute teachers.

Thanks

we get

55 dollars a day...it's rough when you are working half days and have to pay a babysitter 15 of it.

yeah but...

We get $110 per day in my district. BUT my three bedroom starter home which I luckily purchased 12 years ago and don't have to pay the going rate for now would sell for HALF A MILLION DOLLARS! Seriously! For a dinky little house! So go ahead and move here and get the "big" money and then try to buy a house or even rent! It's absolutely ridiculous!

57.00 is why they do not have subs.
Attention must made on increasing the tax base-get a Wal-Mart won't they? Increasing the market supply of subs means being called for less jobs a boon for the school administration. You can't collect unemployment remember-you member.

Move to the Rio Grande Valley. Wait, 110.00 is for a certified teacher with a degree of course. Otherwise the grass is not greener. The local rents begin at 350.00/month. 3/2/2 on 50x125 brick home goes for 160K.
How about those apples. OOps..oranges.
Glorified.
