Jigsaw Puzzles

When my daughter was younger we would work puzzles. She loved them along with board games. She’s on her own now and we haven’t had a puzzle out in years.
On a whim today, I bought a 1000 piece Christmas puzzle. I am retired and have the time so I thought why not!
I am wondering if others on this board do puzzles.

Yes! It's one of my fall/winter activities. I keep one going in my library and work on it whenever I feel like it. My mom was an avid jigsaw puzzler and she was sharp as a tack into her 90's. I hope it helps me too. 😊

Yes, mostly in the winter. My mom is always doing one as well as my neighbor, so we swap them between us.

I love doing jigsaw puzzles. I prefer 500-550 pieces puzzles or 750 pieces if I really like the picture. The 1,000 piece ones stress me out!

The only 1000 ones I like are the kind that have tons of little pictures in them, like "types of candy" or "fads from the decades" because then it is much easier to see what pieces belong to. It still takes FOREVER to sort all the pieces first!

Yes, I usually have a puzzle out on my dining room table. I like 1000 piece puzzles, but I switch to 500 piece puzzles when I want to be sure I get it done by a certain time, like when we have company and need the table.

It is a winter activity for us. We stick to 500-750 piece puzzles. I did order the Advent calendar puzzle mentioned in the Lounge. It is 1000 pieces, but done in small parcels so we should be ok.

It's a space issue for me. I can't explain it. I have a big house and don't have room to keep a card table up. I guess I need to declutter even more.

DH and I love jigsaw puzzles. With just 2 of us in the house now, we always have one we are working on. We like the 1,000 or 750 ones. Recently, 2 of my grandkids have asked for puzzles for Christmas as they enjoy working on them when they visit. I love this! In fact, I joined a FB "puzzle club" that meets once a month and trades puzzles. This has helped a lot with the cost. We have been doing this since Covid. You take as many as you want, you leave with as many as you want. Sometimes there might be as many as 50 people there. I couldn't believe that many people are interested!

I bought two puzzles during our trip to NYC. One is New York City. The other is the new World Trade Center. We like puzzles, especially in winter.
