A very long day!

You all are the very best cheerleaders ever! It was a long, painful day, but it is over thank goodness it is over. Because the calcifications were spread out, I had to have the area "bracketed" to show where exactly it was. First I had 4 "baby" needles for the dye that was tracking the lymph nodes. Then I went to the mammo room and the radiologist inserted serveral long needles to show the areas and wires were deployed to mark it for the surgeon. They numbed me for this, but I could still feel them and it was painful. They also had to take multplie mammograms to see if the needles were in the right place... more pushing and holding my breath, etc. It was only scheduled for 30 min. but it took well over an hour, and they had to replace one of the needles with a longer one. You get the idea. But finally I was sent to surgery and woke up later. I did not see the dr. again, but he called my DH and told him it went well. DH was not allowed to stay in the hospital and got updates by phone. I will get the results of the margins on Thurs. or Friday, although I keep checking the My Chart to see if anything has posted yet!

So thank you all for the prayers, positive vibes, and healing thoughts. I read them many many times!! I was completely exhausted yesterday when I finally got home, but today I feel much better and no pain. Today I've been relaxing and reading, staying off the computer until tonight. You all are the best ever!
