Lesson Plan templates?

Hi Everyone :)

I don't know why I'm considered a new member now, I've been on this board for months! Anyway, I am trying to create a standard template for lesson plans (I'm sick of using the book!) and am having difficulty. I know many of you do your plans on the computer. I'd love to see the template you use, so if you could email it to me, I'd truly appreciate it!

Thanks so much!

You are a new member because you only have one post. Your membership status will change with more posts.

What subjects do you teach? I only teach reading and social studies. I will attach a template of mine. I modified this template from one someone emailed me last year. ;)

I've posted more than that but I don't always remember to sign in so somehow there was an error.

I teach all subjects but I may be able to modify. Thanks so much for the template!

You are right

You are right. If you don't sign in the post don't get added to your member name. I can't remember how many posts you need to be able to attach items (that seems to really be the only benefit to me), but I'm sure you'll have enough soon.:)

lol, it's a good thing you just said that! I was just going to attach your template back to you so you could see what I did, but I couldn't do it :( I "think" I made it work for me. Thanks again!

Lesson Plan Template

I use some version of this template every year. We are required to put an objective on every lesson plan that we teach, you might be able to get rid of that part. I keep all of my lesson plans in a three ring binder. Hope this helps.

I think you have to have 25 posts before you can begin adding attachments! :) Keep signing in and posting...it won't be long.

I only teach reading this year, so I just write my plans in the boring book! It's faster than typing them! However, I'm enjoying seeing what others use!

Here's mine

Hi there! My template is for 5 days. I made it using Word. It's pretty specific to my schedule, but it may give you an idea.

Good one!

Thanks Suzanne! I wish we had the same schedule, lol. I already tried to play around with it and messed the whole thing up!

There have been so many great ideas on this thread!

Template

Suzanne,
Your lesson plans look super. They sure give me some ideas for next year.

I currently make my own template (can't post them yet not enough posts) but I love seeing others.

I have a question though, I currently glue my template over the pages in my lesson planner and record book. I also make a template for my grade book and tape it in the planner as well.

It is a lot of work, but I don't like three ring binders because the big ring gets in the way. Does anyone have any good ideas about how to bind my book that still gives me the flexibility to change my template/record book list?

Template help

Hi :)

Do you also type your plans out on your template, or do you handwrite in it ? If you use your template just as that and write out your plans as if it were a lesson plan book, you can inexpensively make your own book binding at a kinko's type place. Otherwise, I type my plans also and have the same problem. I hate the binder rings, but can't seem come up with anything else other than the pocket folders with the 3 ring insert which doesn't work for me. I'd rather have a softcover book, but I can deal..I'm curious if anyone has any other suggestions though! Good luck :)

Handwritten

I actually do just print out my template with my basic schedule in it and write my lesson plans out each week.

For me it is just quicker and I can work on my plans wherever! I too would love to have a softcover book that I could add pages to or take pages out of. I gotta admit, I am pretty tired of glueing my pages in each week, although I have tried other things and glueing the pages in is the only thing I have been able to consistently follow through with for multiple years.

Then Kinko's is your solution :)

Great - this should work out so well for you. I'm telling you, go to Kinko's and have them copy your template. you can make your own cover and backing yourself and laminate them to make it harder. They'll use the binding machine and bind all the papers together (Think thesis) and you'll have your very own, personalized lesson plan book :)

I actually thought of doing this too, but I do like how it looks being typed onthe computer - I usually just keep sending it to myself so I can work on it in school or at home. I don't know if I have enough room to write in the boxes, but I'll take a look.

good luck and hope this helps :) !

I have never been able to fit my ideas into the boxes of lesson plan books, so I made my own also. What makes mine different is that I use one page per day. Each page has the routine information on it. Then I add the specifics of each lesson. Because I have that routine information on it already, I don't have a lot of extra notes to leave for a sub.
Hope it helps.

standard template

GOODNESS YOU GUYS MAKE MORE WORK FOR YOURSELVES! I was getting tired reading your posts! LOL Simply type your lesson plan the way you want it in MS Word and save as a template. I have several templates I have used and saved over the years. Thing is they were designed to appease the admin. I was serving at the time.

Type your lesson plans including regular routines the way you like them. Click save as word template. the next week when you are ready to type your plans... open a new document using your template. When you print, you may wish to print front to back (2 sided) or the way I prefer two sheets with wholes punched on opposite sided so I can see my day going across the book. Print and put into a binder.

If you hate a 3-ring binder, I recommend a clip board. I don't know where I'd be without my trusty clipboard! If you need to store old plans, you can put them in a folder or finally 3-hole punch them for that binder.

I love all of your ideas!

Isn't it nice how everybody does what works best for them?! Here's what I use, but I sure like the other templates I've seen on this thread. Thanks, everybody!
