Literature Circles

I am a second grade teacher with several strong readers. I would like to start literature circles and I am wondering what the roles of the students are, if it is best to choose the book or have the students pick a book that they would like to read, and what activities do you have the students do?? Please give any ideas and or sheets to fill out.
