Magazine Activities

During my workshop time I have a magazine workshop. I sometimes guide them on a picture to find or they find their own, and then I have them maybe write 5 questions about the pic., or write 10 adjectives, etc.. I'm looking for some more ideas to have them do with the picture that involves writing.

Fact/Opinion

How about having them look at the picture and write three facts about it and three opinions about it.

Or...doing something with sounds. Find 5 things in the picture with a long e sound...

Just some thoughts.

How about having them look for parts of speech-nouns, adjectives... My kids always like this activity. I have them write a sentence for each picture and identify the part of speech they are uisng the picture for.
