I am looking for a good children's book that teaches diversity. Anyone have any favorites? Also, do you think the book Elmer teaches diversity?

The Other Side

I don't know if this would work for your grade level, but this one definitely teaches diversity. It's a beautiful picture book called The Other Side by Jacqueline Woodson. You can read the synopsis @ Amazon.com.

Depending on what grade you are teaching, There is a great book called PEOPLE by Peter Spier.

Try looking at some of the work by Mem Fox. She's great.
