Hi everyone!

I was wondering if anyone has any creative ideas for how I can teach multiplying 3 digit numbers by 1 digit. We have been doing multiplication for about 2 weeks now, and I feel like the kids are getting bored with it and I'm not sure how to liven it up. Any ideas would be GREATLY appreciated!!

i don't teach multiplication, BUT

one teacher in our school does the Multiplication Mambo. You put a large problem on the floor. (this may be hard for me to explain!) If you were doing a three digit times one digit, you would stand under the problem and using rhythm stamp your foot from the one digit number to the top ones place and then down to where you record the answer. Then you repeat with the top tens place and top hundreds. He has the whole thing figured out-- when you had two digits, he incorporates a slide and a jump back. The whole class stamps it together, and it's pretty catchy (like STOMP!). :)
