Names for Robot

Well, I'm thrilled with the gift my husband and sons gave me - an iRobot Roomba! I always thought it would be cool to turn on the vacuum cleaner, go to work, and come home to clean floors. I tried my little Roomba out this morning and it swept the whole house, even under the couches and chairs!

Of course the cats were less than thrilled....

My husband thinks it should have a name, so I have been trying to think up some good robot names. I don't like HAL because he misbehaved so badly, and R2D2 & C3PO are just too taken. Any fun ideas for a name for my little green robot?

I Know!!!!!

Name it Goddard. It's the name of Jimmy Neutron's robot dog in the movie, and, more importantly, Robert Goddard was the father of modern rocket science. I've always thought it would be cool to have a robot named Goddard. :)

How about...

Speedy? I named my automatic pool cleaner SPEEDY! Everyone in my family knows who I'm talking about when I say his name!:D

Do you just love your vacuum? I looked into those, I think HSN had a presentation on one before school started last fall. My dog sheds so much:mad: , I thought it would be worth the cost just to cut down on some of the daily DOG HAIR around here. Do your cats shed a lot? Does the vac pick up all that hair?

Great names! Thanks.... I still haven't chosen. I think it's like anyone else. Live with it a while and the right name will come :-)

Patches, I do love my Roomba. My cats shed but they don't shed as much as my German shepherd. He sheds all over the place! Plus, I have twom parrots so there is s slight food fling problem. I wouldn't want to let the pet hair or flung bird seed accumulate, the holding capacity isn't that big. My goal is to run it in different rooms on a rotating basis so there isn't time for hair buildup. It does the wood floors as well as the berber carpeting. It has no problem going up onto area rugs.

I figure that for the carpeting, I'll use my high powered Rainbow with the beater bar every couple of weeks to get any deep dirt out.
