New to First Grade

Hi,
I was recently hired to teach first grade, and I'm starting on Thursday! I do not have any primary experience as most of my teaching experience is grades 3-5.

Can anyone give me any advice/tips for working with first graders? Because I'm taking over for a teacher midway through the year, I'm planning to keep the routine and behavior plan that she has in place, but any songs, transition ideas, etc, would be great!
