OMG!!! Isn't this supposed to be the most wonderful time of the year???? I was shopping today as I do every year on the day after Thanksgiving. It never ceases to amaze me how rude people are. They snatch things out of your hands, "cut" you in line. The shoplifters and purse grabbers are everywhere! I was loading my packages and getting ready to leave today as this man waited patiently for my parking space (with his blinker on!) As I was leaving, this woman nearly took my bumper off to steal the space from him. I mean....really! Where's the good will????

That's why I stayed home. DH and I peeled wallpaper off the kitchen walls. (duh - where else would kitchen wallpaper be?!) The sales will be there next week. There isn't anything I need badly enough to be part of what you described.

I stayed home until about 10 a.m. then went shopping at the thrift stores. Found lots of great stuff to decorate the yard with and also some clothes for me and DS.

I had to elbow him in the face

I was listening to 1010 WINS (NY News only station) and they were interviewing a woman who was shopping in NYC this morning. She actually said to the reporter "I had to elbow someone in the face because he pushed me." Peace on Earth and Good Will Towards Men.

I was surprised

I work part-time at a plus-sized store. My manager staffed it well in preparation, but we weren't busy at all. I worked from 3-9 and it was only busy the first hour I was there. We stood around, talked, snacked on the pot-luck items we brought, and complained about our weight. The whole strip mall was slow.

We'll probably pick up before Christmas.

It was ugly here too. I got pushed and shoved and bruised. I was very careful with other people. I helped an old lady who was trapped by the crowd. I let other people have parking spaces. I let other people have the last item even if I wanted one. Karma kicked in though. I got everything I went out for one way or another and at a good price too!
