Open House

Any tips for Open House? I'm going to have a drawing with prizes as incentive to come, so I think I can gather support that way. However, I'm unsure what I want to have here though, as I typically send most of the students' work home with them. If I have centers, I'd like to have one related to our AR reading, but that's all I can think of off the top of my head.

ANY IDEAS FOR OPEN HOUSE CENTERS?

writing centers

I wanted my parents to be familiar with our writing process this year, so I used the idea of a co-worker and set up writing centers. I had one where they edited writing (on a big tablet), another where they used sentence strips to put beginning, middle, end, etc... The kids walked their parents through the centers, and it really went over well.
