This year I have to "teach" PE...I'm terrible. Any book ideas? I can handle the technology but this is hard for me. Thanks.

How about 201 Games for the Elementary Education Program by Jerry Poppen?

These are simple easy to teach games.

Try this site..

www.pecentral.com is an excellent resource for phys ed--all ages and abilities. There are tons of lesson plans, best practices, game ideas, etc.

One of the things I do with my kids came from an idea I found there. We have "Walking Wednesdays". We walk around the gym (someone measured and 16 laps equals 1 mile) and then we multiply the number of laps by the amount of people walking. We are trying to "walk" around West Virginia. The kids really look forward to Walking Wednesday. Tons of other ideas on the site, too.

Send me a private message and ask for games doc. I taught a non sports class two years ago. I gathered games from the internet, public library, school library and games I played as a kid. I put the name and directions on large recipe cards and organized them like recipes in a recipe box. relay, team, inside, holidays, pen and pencil, and etc.
