I have a question regarding this method during the guided reading block of 4-blocks. I haven't tried playschool yet but I'm wondering if it works effectively. Of course, some of the kids would think it great fun to play teacher... How do you determine who is the "teacher" of the group? What kind of "lesson plans" do you hand the "teacher?" How do you assess this type of activity? I haven't been brave enough to attempt it- but I don't think I'd use it very often even still. Yet it seems like a great way to get the students motivated to read and discuss the story.
