This goes out to all thoses of us who feel as if they should give up the job search. PLEASE DON'T!
I felt so bad when I read a post about a fellow job searcher having to get a job in Panera and I found myself nodding in agreement. I'm working as a temp teacher through the end of the year. And I have to work during the summer so I'm going to be doing work at the summer getting classrooms painted and cleaned and ready for the teachers coming in next Fall. And I'll be barely making $7 an hour, but it frees me up for any interviews that come my way. And unfortunately, moving down south is not an option for me as well.
I've given myself till the end of August to find a teaching job and then I'm putting my degree to the test.
So I completely understand what she's going through. I have a son that's going to be a senior next year and then he'll be ready for college. What I'm going through has been a good life lesson for him. I'm constantly reminding him that he needs to go to college right away and get a degree.
But I'm not going to say, "You'll find something." I've heard that so many times before and it doesn't make me feel any better. Or for that matter, when I get an interview I hate when people tell me, "Just be yourself." When I hear that, I usually want to turn to them and ask, "Just who do you think I've been trying to be in all my other interviews?"
The only thing keeping me going right now is that I've gotten a more positive attitude lately. I can't change what others think but I can change what I think.
Thanks for letting me ramble on... I really do wish all of us the best. We've worked so hard.
