possible movie for...

My 6th graders are reading "The Cat Ate My Gymsuit" and thought it would make a good movie. I agree it would, but know one was never made. If anyone has read the book, can you suggest a movie that has a similar plot/experience that I could show once we are done reading it?

I have not read the book, but as an end of the book project/assessment/activity, could your class do a play of it? I'm sure that they would enjoy that.
