My dad is in the hospital. He has Mantel Cell Lymphoma and recieved a stem cell transplant on Monday. He is doing well, all things considering. He is experiencing sickness but its expected with this type of transplant. He is in an isolated room unable to leave the room to visit other patients or visit the day room to see what is going on. He will be in the hospital for at least 2 1/2 more weeks. Please keep him in your paryers, his name is Ken.

My 14 year old step brother also has lymphoma (Lympohoblastic Lymphoma) but he is doing OK right now...he even has hair...he is very proud of that! Please also keep him in your prayers...his name is Carl.

My family is struggeling a bit emotionally with both of them so ill but we are staying as positive as we can. I am dealing with it by running. I am running a marathon with team in training to raise money for Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (www.active.com/donate/tnt/nicolealbritton) so wish me luck! If you have any ideas on fundraisers I can do let me know! I already have a garage sale in the works, and have done a bucket drop at Wall-Mart.

Sending prayers to your dad and step brother, and cyber hugs to you.

On a positive note, I had a 14 year old student with lymphoma quite a few years ago. I am happy to report that she graduated high school, college, grad school, and passed her Bar exams. Now she is a healthy, happy lawyer.

One of my 50 year old friends was diagnosed with lymphoma last year and has completed all of her treatments. She now looks radiantly healthy and is back teaching preschool.

Stay positive as much as possible!

You and your family are in my prayers too. Stay strong in the Lord and He will see you through this time.

The LORD is a refuge for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of trouble. Psalm 9:9

Trust in Him always.

Love in Christ,
Mrs. O

I, too, am sending up prayers for your Ken, Carl, family, and fundraising.

Big hugs!

If you go on the internet and type in fundraisers, your will get different sites that can help depending on what you want. There are a lot of food-type fundraisers as well as activity ideas. Good luck. My prayers are with you and your family.
