Pre-reading strategies

Hey, I was wondering if anyone has some good strategies they use to introduce the selection or if they know of a site that has some options. I am needing some fresh ideas to spice up our intro. of our story/selection. It seems I can easily find during reading and after, but it's hard to find some good before, aside from the usual suspects, (predicting, etc.) I just want some new & creative ways to introduce characters, plot, predictions, etc.

http://www.mandygregory.com/reading_strategies.htm. Also, have you thought about creating Power Point Presentations to introduce stories? I've done it a couple of times and am going to use it more this semester. Good luck!

Wow! I just finished looking at the mandygregory website you posted- it is fantastic! So many times after a workshop,course etc... I say I am going to write down all the great ideas in one place- she has done it for prereading strategies!Thanks!!!!!!
