Readers workshop demo lesson ?

Hi everyone. Does anyone have any ideas for a 30 to 40 minute demo on readers workshop character traits ?

I found stuff on the internet about 3rd grade readers workshop character traits but nothing on second grade readers workshop character traits.

Choose one of the character traits you found online. Character traits are not specific to grade levels.

1. Plan and teach a whole group mini-lesson on that character trait. Discuss with the kids how to look for the character trait in their independent reading.

2. Send kids off to read independently.

3. Return to whole group for a closing meeting for kids to share observations from their reading. Start with partner sharing and then have several kids share with the whole group.
