1. There are so many! In no particular order, I'm currently a fan of Bill Bryson, Louise Penny, Jacqueline Windspear, Richard Peck, John Irving, Maeve Binchey. I'm looking forward to reading what others say.
2. My "garden" is a few pots of herbs - basil, cilantro, chive, mint, parsley, oregano, and hydroponic lettuce in the kitchen.
3. I wouldn't say friends, but we're friendly and get along very well.
4. I hate scary movies and scary books. A friend/former neighbor of mine won several literary awards last year for a horror novel she wrote and I couldn't get past the first 4 chapters. It's Rosenheath, by Dana McSwain, if anyone is interested.

1. Do you have any favorite authors?
I have many favorite authors, and they change over time. I’ve been an avid reader for as long as I can remember. Most recently I’ve read a lot of Megan Miranda, E. Lockhart, Simone St. James, and Ruth Ware. Both of my degrees are in English, so I like a lot of classics, too.

2. If you have a garden, what are you growing?
My yard is too shady for a garden. I have four tomato plants, but they look terrible. I do have a lot of flowers.

3. Are you friends with your neighbors?
We aren’t the kind of friends that hang out with one another, but we are friendly enough to stop and talk if we are outside at the same time.

4. Do you like scary movies?
I enjoy a good psychological thriller.

2. I don’t have a vegetable or flower garden, but I do have a grapefruit tree.

3. I am on casually friendly terms with my neighbors.

4. I like mystery or action thrillers but I stay far, far away from any kind of horror movies.

Cordial with neighbor. (We screwed things up by yelling at each other outdoors. The neighbors must fear us.)

Yes, tomatoes, peppers, squash, cucumber, melon, herbs, plum & fig tree. Hollyhock, roses, silk tree, flowering shrubs, oleander, stock, wisteria, star jasmine, century cactus, Sunflowers!

Love scary movies, but not slasher types. Night of a Thousand Corpses, The House of Wax, there are many. I put on thriller type films sometimes to stay awake til bedtime):D

James Herriot, Frank McCort, (&myself...is that bad?)

ETA: It occurred to me on my walk that I forgot one of my favorite authors, so here’s to Zadie Smith.

1. Do you have any favorite authors?
So many………

Roses, hydrangeas, lavender, lots of herbs, hellebores, hostas, Japanese maples, Cala lilies….and more. My garden is my happy place.

Some. Houses on both sides have changed hands and we are not friends with one, and just acquaintances with the other. More friendly with neighbors down the block.

Nope. I can barely handle suspense in a movie.

1. Do you have any favorite authors? Not especially. I feel like once I start reading multiple books by the same other, I start to sense a writing/style pattern and it grows after awhile. I prefer to read books that sound good rather than just because I like the author.
2. If you have a garden, what are you growing? lettuce, cilantro, oregano, basil, rosemary, thyme, chives, and strawberries
3. Are you friends with your neighbors? We are friendly but not necessarily friends
4. Do you like scary movies? I don't mind scary movies if they have a good plot. I feel like a lot of the scary movies out there are just stupid...no plot.
