I have to do a thematic unit on Early America for the fifth grade. Does anyone know any science lessons that can be tied into Early America.

Hi--
Benjamin Franklin and Thomas Edison would tie in nicely and you could teach electricity...also Samuel Morse and the telegraph, Eli Whitney and the cotton gin...hope these help!

Mapping the constellations

I think a good early American science lesson would be to use the stars and constellations to map or graph the early settlers track here from Europe. Math would also tie in nicely to this lesson.
