Sharing- CVC Picture Cards with Elkonin Boxes

I made these a few years ago and thought I'd share. The cards have a picture for a c-v-c word with Elkonin boxes underneath. They are organized by the letter groups used in the Reading Horizons program, but you could reorganize them to fit your program after you print them. You will want to laminate the cards.

You can have students say the name of the picture. Then they can draw a dot or put a counter or other small manipulative in each box as they tap out the sounds. You could have them write the letters in the boxes that represent the sounds to spell the word. You can have them use Unifix letter cubes to build the words on the cards. You could also use these cards for a Write the Room activity. Place the cards around your classroom. Students walk around the room with the response sheet on a clipboard and write the words for the pictures.
