snow day

We in Denver are expecting over a foot of snow tonight, if you listen to the weather people. But it's 4:30 and it hasn't started snowing yet! Darn it! I want a snow day tomorrow, but it will probably only snow a couple of inches and all we'll get is a really bad Monday morning commute. Everybody, train your snow vibes on Denver, and help me get a snow day!

On Their Way

Hi,

Snow vibes coming your way! I find myself perversely hoping for a snow day on Tuesday, which is when it's supposed to be here.

Happy Snow Day to you!

I will do that for you. I don't see that happening here in southern NC. Too many trees and flowers in bloom--too warm.

Enjoy your snow day! :)

Let it snow!

The snow is heading our way tonight with predictions of 12” - 20”. I’m not sure if I want a day off tomorrow or not since we’ll just have to make it up. On the other hand, I want to snuggle in and sleep late tomorrow. What a dilemma! Someone on this board said that if we turn our pjs inside out we’ll get a snow day. I think I’m up for that! Think snow everyone!

Sending out some serious snow vibes...

To both of you...all the way from South mississippi...snow....what's that....(just kidding.) We actually got snow... the last time was Christmas Day 2004.

Good luck. :)

Snowing here

an hour south of Denver. REally weird day. Started sunny, clouded up, rained, snowed (ground covered in white), sun came out (ground returns to brown/green of spring), hail, lots of lightning and thunder, nasty snow and nasty roads. All in about 11 hours!

I am guessing you'll get your snow day in Denver tomorrow.

Hi Alicia

I'm in Broomfield. It's snowing hard here (8:30) but I don't know if it's 14" worth. We just ducked out for something to eat. It's wet, and cold, and windy. I have a feeling I'm just going to get a lousy commute tomorrow--no snow day. We'll see.

Oh, man!

Not even enough snow for a delayed start! Bummer! Time to get ready for work.

Bummer!

That's too bad!

Keep your fingers and toes crossed for us. We are supposed to get freezing rain and sleet tonight, the 3 - 5 inches. I am soooo ready for a snow day after 2 6 day weeks.

Wahhh!

No snow day here. Instead, my day looked like this: off to work at 6:30 AM, school out at 3:15, board meeting from 3:30 - 5:00, parent conferences from 5:00 - 6:00, back home by 6:30. Boy, do I need my spring break!

day off?

I used to think snow days were good. I just happened to look at our school calendar the other day because I wanted to know how many more kid days left. Then I saw that they tacked on two more days because we were off for snow earlier in the year. I thought school districts had a few built in snow days. If you only have been off two then that shouldn't matter. Now its like I have an extra week because I have to come in the following Mon. and Tues. after the kids. It really wrecks the weedend I was counting on in June. Do your schools automatically add days for EVERY snow day? I don't even know why we had them off in the first place. It only snowed a few inches. I'd rather go in in the winter over our very hot summer days. Now I hate snow days!! Besides 192 teacher days is long enough.
