Spring Break!

Spring Break. Those two words evoke images of sunshine and sleep and much more fun than should be allowed! Our school is out for spring break this week, and I couldn't be happier! I've stayed up entirely too late, slept entirely too late, went shopping way more than should be legal, and have had, in general, the time of my life!
I think that one of my favorite parts of this delicious springtime respite is the opportunity to step back and really take a look at what I do and why I do it. Sometimes it's so easy to get caught up in the everyday grind of grading papers and managing children that I lose focus. With this thought in mind, I'm sharing some of my favorite thoughts on teaching. Happy spring, y'all!
1. "To teach is to learn twice" - Oliver Wendell Holmes
2. "A teacher affects eternity; he can never tell where his influence stops." - Henry Adams
3. "Teaching is the choicest of professions because everybody who is anybody was taught how to be somebody by a teacher." - Anonymous
4. "Bless all children. How loving they can be once they understand." - Aletha Lindstrom
5. "I am a teacher. A teacher is someone who leads. There is no magic here. I do not walk on water. I do not part the sea. I just love children." - Marva Collins
