Talking in Kind.

I am having a really hard time with certain students in my class talking. I have been after them and after them and things don't seem to be getting any better. Are there certain kids that just don't get the concept? How do I handle these certain ones without ruining there expectations that "Kind. is fun and I want to go"? How much talking is too much? I am really struggling with this.

I reallly struggle with this too. We have a traffic light in our classroom. This works because if they are talking when they shouldn't be their clip gets moved. It works pretty well, but there are times when they are all talking and then I have them put their heads down. Let me know if you or anyone else has any ideas.

I went to Walmart and bought a classical cd for $2.75. I play it during center time and have noticed a huge difference in the volume of the students voices. I also use a chime to signal the children when I have an important message.

For those few who might not get it, have them practice with you during their free choice time. A couple of times practicing and loosing their free play as a consequence might help them remember.
