voided checks

I worked at a summer camp last summer. I just found my last pay check from last August that I never deposited. On the check it says void after 180 days. Obviously its been more than 180 days, but I'm wondering if there is someway I can get that money(several hundred dollars) deposited into my checking account. Maybe I could call the camp I worked at and explain the situation. I don't know if the bank will deposit my check, but I guess I could try. I know I should have been more responsible with my money, but I simply forgot and I just moved and went back to my old house and found the old check that I never deposited. I feel so stupid!

When I worked as a teller, that was one of the things we were suppose to check for along with signatures. I lost a 250.00 check one time from my inlaws. I felt terrible. I never did find it. I think I must have thrown it away with some other papers. My husband was furious. I hope you get your money =)

Ask them to reissue the check

Write them, enclose the old check (make a copy) and ask them to reissue the check. Should be no problem.

I plan to call them tomorrow and explain the situation. Hopefully it won't be a problem. I'm returning to the camp this summer to work as a camp counselor, so since I know them well it probably won't be a problem.
