Washing Pillows

dogs

Full Member
I have never washed pillows before but I am having people staying for the holidays and want them to be fresh. Usually I just buy new when I need to but this time it is too many people to do that. I have a high efficiency washer so there is no aggitator in the middle.

just wash it

I throw my pillows in the washing machine and in the dryer. They come out fine.

Pillows

If they're foam rubber, go ahead and wash and dry them in the washer and dryer. But if they're feathers or down, take them to the dry cleaners to be cleaned and have them put them in new ticking. Don't wash feathers!

Pillows

I too throw all of my pillows in the washer, foam and feather. Just be sure to dry them thoroughly in the dryer. I usually put them on for two cycles just to be sure.

Hope it helps,

feathers

I also wash my feather pillows, but throw in a tennis ball or two in the dryer to fluff them up. As PP said, make sure they are thoroughly dried.

momma always used to say...

throw a couple towels in with them to keep them fluffed up and from clumping up.
