I will be teaching weather starting next week. I was wondering if someone could share some ideas that you do for weather in your classroom. THANKS in advance.
Put a huge thermometer outside your window and read the temperature each morning and after lunch. Make a rain discovery bottle. Use a clean dry clear plastic bottle and put some tooth picks in it. It will sound like rain falling...
I am doing weather in March as well, we have one of those Hurrcaine bottle thingies we use, we keep our own personal calendars of the weather and at the end of the month graph it. We will make wind socks, the book I like the Rain is really good for shared reading.
I am looking for more ideas though.
I have a wind center in my classroom with several objects that the children can experiment with. I have a feather, a paperclip, a block, a paper cup, a straw, etc. The children take turns at the center blowing on the items to see if they can make them move. I keep this center up for about a week.
