I develop shows for you young audiences based on books that teachers use in the classrooms. These days there are less standardized book lists, so I wonder..what are you reading with kids in class? FYI the company is Theatreworks/USA and we play to millions of kids and their teachers all across the country. I truly just want to meet your needs.

I read all of Roald Dahl's books like the BFG, Matilda, The Magic Finger,
The Twits, James and the Giant Peach, as read alouds or in book clubs.

I also read Jon Schiezka's magic trio books with groups, especially boys, to get them turned on to adventure, a little history, and good writing.

And of course, the Magic Treehouse Series by Mary Pope Osbourne, for history.
And the Magic SchoolBus series by Joanna Cole for Science.

This year I added C.S.Lewis, and The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe as a read aloud due to the movie.
Hope this list is helpful. Good luck with your theatre group.

Last year we went to see the Junie B. Jones Top Secret Personal Diary play as our field trip--it was INCREDIBLE and my kiddos loved it. The whole second grade went, along with one first grade class, and everyone was very impressed.

I highly recommend them!

Keep up the good work! :)

My kids love the "My Father's Dragon" series. "Mr. Popper's Penguins" is a classic. How about Dr. Seuss?
