I'm looking for some story starters or ideas for an Xmas writing project. I've been working on an autobiography basically all fall, so I'm looking to do a STORY (not just a journal, or re-writing of an Xmas poem, though I normally do those). Does anyone have any good ones? My brain is a little fried right now........ report cards just went in. Thanks!

My class has been working with a kindergarten class on a service learning project (making books for a school in Sliddell, LA that lost all their books in Hurricane Katrina). The kindergarteners wrote books using invented spelling and my students wrote the book spelling underneath. My students interviewed their kindergarten buddy and used the information to write 'about the author' paragraphs. Now they are going to use that information to make an 8-10 page book about their buddy. We will be giving them as Christmas presents. The interview sheet asked things like who was in their family? pets? favorite game? tv show? school activity? theme park?(we're in FL) color? etc. My students love working with their K buddies and are excited about this project.
